Ocean Fishing

Sailing duty for Fishers aboard The Endeavor. Each voyage makes three stops, and every stop is locked to a time of day — Day, Sunset or Night — which decides what bites. Points come from what you land plus the voyage's content bonuses, which multiply the whole run.

The messages you will see

Ocean Fishing talks to you constantly — every buff and line has a meaning. These are the ones that matter.

Spectral Current

  • An instance-wide weather flip that transforms the fishing spot.
  • Triggers when anyone aboard lands a “Spectral”/“Spectresaur” fish — likelier on smaller boats (fewer players competing).
  • One per stop, lasting 2 minutes (up to 3), and always cut short at 0:30 left in the stop.
  • While it runs, fish bite faster, score more, and exclusive spectral fish — including the stop's rare fish — enter the pool.

Fisher's Intuition

  • A buff earned by catching a set of common fish at the stop; it adds that stop's rare fish to the pool, which is otherwise uncatchable.
  • You'll know: a heartbeat SFX, a fish-specific screen line, and a timed status icon.
  • Lasts 60 s outside a Spectral Current, 15 s inside (some are 45 s).
  • When it lapses you normally see a departure line. If the buff expired during a cast that was already locked to bite, no line appears — and that means a guaranteed bite.

Gullstorm

  • Seagulls gather over the boat → Gullstorm, 90 s of increased large-fish bites.

Cetaceous Speed

  • Dolphins swim alongside → Cetaceous Speed, 90 s of extra GP regeneration per tick.

Auroral Flipper

  • Also from dolphins → Auroral Flipper, 120 s of increased Spectral Current proc chance. Only obtainable before a current.

“Something bites!”

  • Ordinary log noise. This is the standard hook prompt — it fires when you press Hook, not at the instant of the bite, so it is not a bite-timing cue.

Points & content bonuses

GP is the only stat that matters out there — Gathering and Perception do nothing. Score is your catch points multiplied by the voyage's content bonuses: 105 % / 110 % / 120 % for completing 1 / 2 / 3 mission objectives, 150 % when a party of 3+ clears all ★★★★★ objectives, and +130 % for the shark / octopus / fugu / crab category goals.

Full list on the Rewards page — 54 content bonuses and 40 achievements.
